Life skills from the interview:
Amy advocates:
- set a vision for yourself
- do what you love.
- one should not be victimised by their difficult circumstance.
- she had two choices when she lost her legs, either to live on or let go. She made a choice to live on at the operating table
- people cross over and live on a different wave length after a major accident
- her mother insisted that everyone who visited her hospital room should bring in positive energy. As any slight negative thought would have lead to her death her mother thought and believed.
- evolve and don't be stuck in the self
- we all have two voices in our minds, the positive and the negative
- allow yourself to sit down and think about your beauty, generosity, kindness and intelligence - (positives you have)
- at the last moment (operating table) the doctor asked her to think about what she believed in. she chose to think about love as it creates everything. she thought about all the people she loved.
- she chose not to go and saw the light. but know that all would not be easy, but as had been told by a stranger when she crosses over she should not be afraid.
- the power of now is staying and not worrying what will happen next. Think of now.
- Set a vision for your life.
- meditate, walk in the morning and do yoga
- advise to the youth - talk less and listen more
-People wake up or cross over though either chance, grace or some tragedy
- Passion, perseverance and commitment brought her to her successes
- she was born a day dreamer and hence became a visionary and in her dark moments she visualises instead of worrying. ( visualises what she would like to see in the end- end results)
- At the difficult moment while losing her legs in hospital following an illness of meningitis, she didnt allow herself to feel sorry and sad as she realised there was noting she could do about it.
My explanation: (accepted her situation instead of living in denial). This helped her visual a solution)
She thought - What if I am the author of my life? what would she like to see at the end of the story. she visualised and could feel everything and see what she wanted and knew she could make it.
"If you can believe it then you can achieve it"
Since she had a glimpse of the other side (dying) she says love continues as she felt at that moment it doesn't end its just in a different way.
- to live and inspire life is her purpose
